Last weekend we took the family to the Metro Richmond Zoo. Kennedy was super excited to see all of the the animals up close and personal, especially the giraffes [although I think I enjoyed them more than she did!]. Having these tall animals simply eat right out of your hand was A-MAZING!
The canaries were also cool! We brought sticks of bird seed and was told they were for feeding the birds. Little did I know that when you went into the enclosure with hundreds of these canaries, they would flock around you and actually sit right on the stick and eat the food. I was a little scared -- I have to admit, but it was fun to see the birds fly so close fighting to get to these seeds. If you weren't careful they would even find a spot right on you to land to get a chance at some of those delicious seeds.
The highlight of course were the monkeys, she kept telling me "Mommy, I talk to the monkeys...ooh ooh, ahh ahh" -- it was too funny!
We even jumped on the Safari Train to cool down and take a break from walking for a bit. Did I mention Kennedy has a thing for trains....she had such a great time!
The Metro Richmond Zoo offers you a chance to have fun, while learning all about wild life. I totally recommend it for anyone who lives in the area or just here visiting, to stop by a take a tour of the Metro Richmond Zoo's wild life and explore your wild side. Lol ;-)
